We believe that everyone deserves to feel safe, make friends, and pursue happiness. As adults, it is our responsibility to help children find places where their needs are met and they can safely grow. Dragonfly Forest, Inc., a 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit organization, offers an overnight camp experience for children with autism and medical needs. We have sessions for children with Autism, 22Q Deletion, Sickle Cell Disease, Bleeding Disorders, Persistent Asthma, and a brand new session for teens to transition to adulthood (our Teen Explorer Program). As we enter our 10th summer, we are proud to say that our community has become strong and sustainable. Our former campers are counselors and directors at our camp, our former counselors are teachers and doctors in our community, and we all continue to benefit from being part of a diverse and dynamic group.
We designed our summer program to be a unique educational environment. What looks like standard camp programs are actually intentionally designed to help campers learn about themselves and their diagnosis (see below for more details of the measured outcomes).
Dragonfly Forest is extremely affordable for families. The generosity of individuals, corporations and foundations provides the financial resources to send children to camp. To learn more visit us at http://www.dragonflyforest.org/
